The rumors are true
I’ll be doing my first headlining show at Vancouver’s premier jazz venue Frankie’s Jazz Club on Thursday, October 13th at 8pm. The trio features Conrad Good on the bass, Bernie Arai on the drums, and myself on the electric guitar. Here’s the facebook event link.
I’ve been playing with this trio for the last few months at my last few appearances at Tangent Cafe. I love the amount of energy we’re able to cook up together. It certainly helps that Conrad and Bernie work together pretty frequently with or without me. A recent example being their work as the rhythm section on my good friend David Blake’s fantastic and awe-inspiring new album “Fun House”. If that album (listen below) is any indication of their ability to support and stretch and enhance any composition as a rhythm section, then I know I’m in good company.
Thank you
Speaking of support, I just want to say that I do appreciate all the support and encouragement that I receive from those who have been frequenting my shows and saying hi, sharing posts, getting the word out. Even something like subscribing to this email newsletter might seem just like pressing a button and getting an email once in a while, but I truly value it. We happen to have a very lively and connected scene here in Vancouver and I couldn’t be happier to live where I live. Thank you.
I’ll be managing (eating at) a few thanksgiving family dinners, as well as a 31st birthday this weekend, so I probably won’t be doing much more promo for the show until closer to the date. Please reserve your seats ahead of time at this link. Share this email with your friends, family, family friends, family doctor, family of doctors, etc. Like I said, this is my first bandleading gig at Frankie’s so I’m looking to pack the place.
See you there
